These new HP slim notebooks and “ultrabooks” are really nice looking, and I really like the fact that they’ve moved the trackpad to the center, instead of stupidly offset to the left. However, why do they all have GARBAGE displays? 768 lines was standard 20 years ago. My 12.5″ notebook is 1266×768. 13-15 at that res is completely UNSAT.

I agree with artaman, wait a little while. Even if you don’t want Ivy Bridge, once they come out, all the prior Sandy Bridge Ultrabooks will drop in price!

I would definitely wait; the HD 4000 graphics alone in ivy bridge are good enough a reason for this

I’m at a point where I sort of need a new laptop (in this case an ultrabook) for school, and don’t know if I should buy now, or wait a little until before school starts in the fall.

HP was pretty unclear about the distinction between the two, but as far as I understand it, yes, the Sleekbooks should be the very same chassis.

Will the sleekbooks be exactly the same chassis with the ultrabook versions; the only difference being the AMD platform?
