More RAM or faster CPU is a lot more useful than a slapping on a touch panel on an ultrabook. Maybe even a matte screen.

Maybe they’ll continue with the full sized ports and go with a regular sized HDMI port.

-180 degree screen angle
-multitouch gestures on the touchpad
-9-12 hour battery claim
-2 USB ports on the right side
-The micro-HDMI is moved to the left side which replaces the Thunderbolt port
-The SD slot looks like a full-sized SD slot now so that’s good

I wonder which of these prototypes is closer to the final design.

I wonder if Acer decided to get rid of the Thunderbolt port. That would be unfortunate since if they’re going with mini-ports anyway, I would have preferred DisplayPort video via Thunderbolt instead of micro-HDMI since it supports VGA, DVI and HDMI video.

The touchpad issue The Verge mentions is hopefully just a prototype issue. Not having a multi-touch trackpad is pretty bad for today’s notebooks.

Whether or not I’d be buying this is if their original battery claim of 9 hours isn’t too imaginary. The video does mention 6 hours now so if that’s Acer’s new “up to” claim then I’ll be waiting for the 3rd generation of ultrabooks.

Was that just for a prototype that didn’t have the glass installed? The glass is disappointing. I’d rather not put a matte screen protector on since I’m bad at that.
