On topic of Form-factor, why do they always put the "tablet-release latch" INSIDE the clamshell?

As a result, it's such a chore to get the tablet out of the backpack! It involves taking both pieces out, open the clamshell, somehow manage to release the latch, put the keyboard part back into backpack (with the stiff, awkwardly-shaped hinge sticking up in open position), all that before you'll switch on the tablet... And then it's the other way round when you want to put it away!

In that sense, it totally negates the hardware/software quick boot enhancements, and I think people are going to stick to iOS/android tablets and smartphones for casual tasks, and only use this "transformer ultrabook" with desks...

... Which comes full circle: "What use-case would you use it as a 850gm tablet?"

For a slider form factor, like the Sony Vaio Duo 11, but this problem don't exist. You can pull it out, switch it on, poke & jot down notes, suspend, put it back in backpack. Yes, it's 1.2Kg in hand when in tablet mode, but it's much more "instantaneous", which is a very important deciding factor when people choose which device to use.

Engadget did a brief hands-on with it:
http://www.engadget.com/2012/08/24/fujitsu-stylistic-q702-lifebook-t902-hands-on/

Couple of points came to note:
1) The Article mentioned the keyboard dock is heavy.
2) One of their photos seems to show the keyboard dock have removable battery.

I think Chippy's estimate of "at least 1.3Kg" combined weight is optimistic, should be more like 1.5-1.7Kg, otherwise it will tend to tip over.

What's the dimensions of the this (height and width)?

I agree that the stylus silo should have been on the tablet since it's mostly useful in tablet mode when the dock is in your bag or at home/office.

With the 2 batteries and full-sized ports and SD slot, this could win out for me instead of the 11.6" Acer S7.

Price was said to be $1099 (I guess starting price). At that price and this screen size I don't understand why they didn't put a full HD screen in there. At least it's 400 nits.
