Back on the 8th of August we talked about a WiFi issue with our Lenovo U310 Ultrabook. The range and speed were not up to par with other devices using the same access point. After our story on the 8th, Mark, an admin from the Lenovo support forums, responded to indicate that Lenovo had nailed down the problem which was affecting U310 and U410 units. Mark explained that U310 and U410 units manufactured before July 23rd had the issue which would require servicing to fix. Lenovo and retailers seem to be still selling units manufactured before July 23rd.
Lenovo’s IdeaPad U310 Ultrabook hit the market not long ago but apparently not without issues. Problems with WiFi range and speed have been reported by a number of users. We’ve actually had a chance to get out hands on two U310′s for testing and both have exhibited the problem. We mentioned this issue in our U310 unboxing article, but because it’s a persistent issue we wanted to highlight it as a warning to those looking at the U310. According to several reports, the U410 Ultrabook shares the same issue.

Back to school time is coming and students will be looking for powerful and lightweight laptops which have great battery life — Ultrabooks fit the bill perfectly; even more so now than the first generation thanks to reduced prices!
The other day we uncovered pretty much everything there is to know about Lenovo’s new U310 and U410 Ultrabooks. The only piece missing was that the company was completely silent on Ivy Bridge! Well now Lenovo has officially confirmed Ivy Bridge in their new U310 and U410 budget Ultrabooks. Pricing and release date information is also revealed.
We’ve known for some time that Lenovo was working on a refresh of the U300 and U400 Ultrabooks but there had been no official information regarding specifications or price. Official spec information from Lenovo is now available, and thanks to a Romanian reseller, we can get an idea of how much the the U310 and U410 will cost. A new gallery of photos reveals that the U310 and U410 share some stylish similarities to the MacBook Pro!
