CES 2013 is all over for another year. We weren’t there but thanks to live streams, press releases and news from other sites we were able to relay all the important news for you and had the time to add a little more analysis that we would have done had we been there.
In the Ultrabook space 7 new products were shown and 7 products got an update and there was a lot of related technology news. Read on for the 23 most important Ultrabook-related news items of CES 2013.
We were told that 30-50 ultrabooks would appear at CES last week and while there was indeed a lot of buzz and news, there really are only two truly new models to consider today. Everything else was either already reported, a future, demonstrator or prototype Ultrabook. Some will make it to the shelves, most won’t. In total we added 9 devices to the database (along with a ton of links, images and videos) and there are a few more that may appear later in the year but let’s go over the important devices to be considered over the next month and mention a few brands that still aren’t in the game. The Samsung NP530 is the new 1.4KG Series 5 Ultrabook you saw launched in South Korea a short while back. We’ve now confirmed It’s coming to other countries soon as we’ve just spotted pre-order for it in Germany. The specifications and price are looking very competitive.
LG has announced a new Ultrabook. the LGwith a 13.3” display and a 1.2KG / 2.6lb weight.
The size of the notebook has been kept to a minimum through the use of the LG Shuriken display technology so you’ve effectively got a 13.3” screen in the space of a 12” laptop although looking at thespecifications, it’s the same width. The is up to 14.7mm thick and is said to have a 6hr battery life. The new Ultrabook is due for availability this month but there’s no word of availability outside South Korea at the moment.
