Fujitsu Stylistic Q704 Hands-On

Fujitsu Stylistic Q704 (7)

At the Fujitsu Forum 2013 preview in Munich yesterday (and continuing for the next 2 days) I had the chance to get hands-on with a number of new Fujitsu products. The Fujitsu Stylistic Q584 might interest you if you’re looking for a very lightweight, waterproof 10-inch Windows 8.1 tablet on Baytrail but Ultrabooknews readers are more likely to want to know about what’s cooking on Haswell. The Stylistic Q704 is the successor to the Q702 that I tested at MWC this year. That was “the most complex and multi-faceted PC we’ve ever tested.” The Q704 follows the same path in offering fully-featured high-quality tablet or laptop-style productivity but this time in a waterproof and dustproof casing. The design is much improved, the keyboard feels better and Haswell will really improve the battery life.

Fujitsu Q702 Hybrid (3)

This isn’t going to be a standard review of the Fujitsu Q702. We’ve found some issues. We’ve spoken to Fujitsu. We’ve done a lot of analysis on the bigger picture with Hybrids too. The Fujitsu Q702 is the most complex and multi-faceted PC we’ve ever tested so grab a coffee and enjoy the review.

HP Elitebook Revolve 810 Ultrabook Convertible Hands-On. Shipping 1st March

P1130933

I had completely forgotten about the HP EliteBook Revolve 810 so when I spotted it at a Mobile World Congress pre-event this evening I was a little more excited than I should have been. Having had a good look at though it deserves some praise for a quality and stylish build, good set of ports, removable battery, TPM, VPro (I couldn’t find evidence of it though), optional digitizer and more.

Fujitsu Stylistic Q702 Hybrid Ultrabook Unboxing and Overview

P1130888P1130889

Fancy 70WH of battery in your Ultrabook? For those that don’t know how significant this is, it’s the best battery capacity we’ve seen so far in the 11.6” segment and it beats nearly all other Ultrabooks. Only the Fujisu U772 has more, but not by much. The Fujitsu Stylistic Q702 doesn’t stop there. I’ve unboxed and I’m impressed at the specs, ports and capability. There’s another first here too. Matt capacative touchscreen with digitizer!

Lenovo Thinkpad Carbon X1 (29)

What a pleasure it has been to test this high quality Ultrabook. What a disappointment it is though to see software affecting the experience. The Lenovo Thinkpad Carbon X1 review is below.

Model tested: 3460-2SG S, a European model with 3G that retails for about €1749 and about $1750 when configured at Lenovo USA.

Dell 6430u Ultrabook to be first with WiGig

The Dell 6430U now ready to go, and Dell have just revealed something very interesting and unique. Not only is this a MIL-STD 810G Ultrabook but it’s going to be the first with WiGig – a standard that not only gives you wireless LAN but also transports video and audio to WiGig  docking stations. Now that’s what we like to see, and earlier than expected!
