The ASUS Zenbook UX3410UA. Ultrabook, subnotebook, whatever you want to call it, if it’s under 1.3 KG / 3 pounds and it’s got a screen as good as this, I’m interested. I’ve just completed a video review for Notebookcheck (video below) and now I’m torn between three great ultrabook options. The Dell XPS 13 is a recommendation; That goes without saying. The Lenovo Ideapad 710S Plus that I did a video review for yesterday, also worth considering. This ASUS Zenbook though has such a great screen and such good battery life…and such a good keyboard…
The beautiful ASUS Zenbook Z305, powered with the new Intel Core M CPU, will launch at €799 according to NotebookItalia. This 1.2KG Ultrabook with a 2K display, 4GB RAM and a 128GB SSD should be available in December.
We always though that ASUS would break into a new price point with this superlight but 799 euro (which is likely to translate to $799 pre-tax in the USA) is better than we expected.
At a press event in Berlin today ASUS launched a laptop based on Core M. The ASUS Zenbook UX305 is just 12.3 mm thick and weighs 1.2KG. There’s no price available yet but it’s clearly a Q4 product.
When ASUS launched the Zenbook NX500 at Computex earlier this year it had one of the most impressive specifications lists to date. An Intel Core i7-4702HQ with Turbo Boost Up to 3.2GHz and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850 are the processors that power the 15.6-inch 4K IPS screen. There’s a huge 96Wh battery AC WiFi and a lot more. The price is high and the weight is over 2KG. Ultrabookreview have just published a full review and I spoke to the author, Andrei, about the unit…
We’ve got all channels open with Mobilegeeks today as they race around Computex. This is the first close-up video we’ve seen of the ASUS .
At 15.5mm with a touchscreen, the ASUSis one amazingly thin Ultrabook. Gorilla Glass lid, backlit keyboard, 2560×1440 resolution, 4th-Gen Intel Core and more although at this stage the full specifications aren’t known. The ASUS is being launched at Computex and although it wasn’t mentioned in the ASUS press conference, a preview model was shown behind glass.
I know a lot of you are waiting for final details, pricing, availability and a review of the ASUS Zenbook UX31A Ultrabook and while we haven’t secured a review sample yet, we can at least bring you pricing and specification details of four models that have just appeared in retail channels in the USA.
The four ASUS UX31A models we’ve seen so far are as follows:
Waiting for pricing and availability on the ASUS Zenbook UX32A, the lower-cost variant of the Zenbook range? We heard that it will be available with Ivy Bridge, which is probably true, but there’s a Sandy Bridge model out there too so watch out!
Two versions of the ASUS UX32VD have hit retail channels in Europe. The ASUS Zenbook UX32VD-R4002V and R3001VV offer exactly the same 500/24GB drive, GeForce GT620M and 4GB RAM with either Core i5 or Core i7 Ivy Bridge platforms. Starting price 999€ including local taxes – about $1054
Hands-up who’s interested?
Last year I tipped Intel to partner with BlueStacks to bring monetized Android apps to Windows via Appup. That didn’t happen but a similar set-up is about to happen with ASUS who will deliver the Bluestacks application and supply applications through their own ASUS@Vibe application channel.
